Cobra Starship feat. The Plasticines - Fool Like Me

Oh I cannot wait for 'Night Shades' - every song I hear from it just gets better and better, and Fool Like Me is no exception. The archetypal summer song, it will put you in mind of sunny beaches and cold drinks - or maybe that's just my wishful thinking. With a kind of Caribbean vibe in the melody, funky and rolling, and a cameo from the oh-so-chic Plasticines, this is a song set to be an instant hit. The vocals in this song are gorgeous from both bands, channeling the mood of the song and adding their very own twist to it. The lyrics are actually fun and sometimes funny in this song, and that only makes it more endearing - but there is a heart in it too, and that's just as important. Fool Like Me is perfect for all the summer that's left - don't let it go to waste.

Cobra Starship - You Make Me Feel

Perhaps one of my favourite things about Cobra Starship is that they can reinvent themselves over and over again and yet still retain this musical genius type of integrity. You Make Me Feel is grown up pop with that Peter Pan edge, it wouldn't feel out of place in a nightclub in some glamorous far flung place. There is however a vein of pure Cobra Starship running right through it, immediately identifiable, and that's what allows the song to stand out from the others of the same genre. Vocally seductive, synth beating at the heart of it, and lyrics that go deeper than you'd expect, it's a stellar tune. You Make Me Feel brings to mind the phrase electric glamour, and will be with you much longer than the hangover fro that fabulous club scene.

Cobra Starship - Pleasure Ryland

Time for a Sunday party song - and who fits this bill better than Cobra Starship? 'Viva La Cobra' is an album filled with songs to make you want to dance, and Pleasure Ryand is no exception. With a kind of sexy synth vibe and equally seductive vocals, this is the kind of song there really can't be enough of in the world. A simple backing - as anyone who has seen this song being set up on stage can testify to - but an irresistible song, Pleasure Ryland will have you dancing like you're auditioning for a strip club... in the good way.
